Baby, it’s cold outside…

Baby it's cold outside

Xmas is only a week away and I’ve really been enjoying listening to the annual selection of holiday songs while finding you the best winter outfit inspo. It’s also been horrendously cold over here the past few weeks, so the Xmas blockbuster ‘Baby it’s cold outside’ seemed like the perfect theme for a look today.

I’ve teamed up this week with Reitsport.ch so that you can shop this whole look in one go.

The starting point for any winter riding look is a pair of quality and stylish thermal breeches like this Grand Prix Pro pair by Horze. Wear it with a Pikeur June zip hoodie, a perfect purple Horze Lara vest, and the Euro Star Amsel jacket for an extra layer of warmth.

Accessorize your look with some warm winter essentials like the Busse Winnipeg thermal boots, Roeckl Julia winter gloves and the gorgeous Pikeur beanie and neckwarmer set.

For your ride, wear your grey KEP Italia Cromo polish helmet and dress your horse in this perfect purple Horze saddle blanket to go for that full on super stylish matchy matchy winter outfit.

Stay warm and have a stylish ride!

Wintery walks

Wintery walks

Whether you’re planning on a walk in the hills with your dog, are going for a quick coffee with friends on a chilly day or heading straight to the barn, this look will let you do all in comfort and style.

A pair of dark denim full seat breeches like the Cavallo Cira, is the ideal street-to-stable item, as they would look great as a pair of regular skinny jeans too. Especially if you wear them with a sophisticated stirrup print Fior da Liso Paua blouse and a lightweight baby blue Rochas V neck sweater over the top.

Get ready for the chill with a Quilted luscious brown Husky jacket, a pair of thermal Ariat Colliston H2O boots, which are great for walking and hiking the muddy moors as well as a casual wintery ride, Hauke Schmidt ‘touch of class’ gloves (not only nice for riding) and a Eugenia Kim Marley beanie for warmth and helmet hair management after taking off your KEP Italia Cromo smart blue helmet.

Add on a Pampeano polo belt for the last touch of style and don’t forget to bring along your pony print Stella McCartney Falabella bag for your daily essentials at the barn or in town.

Have a stylish walk or ride!

A touch of rose

a-touch-of-rose

A subtle touch of rose in the stylish winter to spring look. I spotted this PK international Toto bomber jacket on a fellow blogger’s site as one of the spring favourites and could not agree more. I was wondering however how to style this unique piece and came up with this #rootd for you as inspiration.

Highlight the rose embroidery on the bomber jacket (embroidery really is the hottest thing this season) with a bright red Pure Collection Kendall V neck sweater and pairs is with the stylish and sleek dark navy Kadi ladies E-tech breeches by Kingsland.

Wear it all with some classy cognac colored items like the stunning Petrie Milaan lace up boots, a matching H&M belt and the fringed snaffle bag by one of my favourite equestrian style brands Adi Kissilevich.

A few more hints dark navy with the One K helmet and a pair of Hauke Schmidt Touch of Class gloves complete the look for you today.

Have a stylish ride!

Mr Brightside

mr-brightside

If like me, you’re so fed up with grey gloomy cold weather, then this is the #rootd for you. Inject a big pop of bright color into your #rootd and instantly feel energised and ready for your ride!

When I saw this Gucci Flower and tiger-appliqué jersey bomber jacket, I just had to create a #rootd around it: it’s so fabulously fashionable and bright! Wear it with a bright red  PrAna Lyra lightweight vest and over a yellow Air Jumper By Scaglione T-shirt and a pair of bright blue Pikeur Abigail full seat breeches.

Add a few more pops of color with a pair of red SSG Gloves, a yellow Reality Studio ‘Michel’ baseball cap and bring your keys, phone and pennies to the barn in a DKNY Bryant Park Mini Flap Crossbody Viridian shoulder bag.

Keep the rider accessories black and classy with a KASK Dogma helmet, a pair of Ariat field boots and match it all with a MANGO black basic belt.

Have a bright and stylish ride!

Very vintage

very-vintage

I love a touch of retro vintage style both in my day-to-day wear as well as for my #rootd. That’s why I was so happy to have come across the luscious mustard colored vintage logo hoodie from Equestrianista. The hoodie is lovingly layered over an Asmar Equestrian Merino wool V-neck long sleeved shirt and under a Mountain Horse navy blue Noble vest.

Best breeches for a vintage casual look are a pair of denim ones, like the Pikeur Candela. Wear it with a pair of vintage style Linsey polo boots by Horka, a pair of Roeckl chester gloves and a gold heart buckle Bianca belt from Spiced Equestrian.

Go full-on retro with a pair of Sporting Hares King Velvet sunglasses and a vintage Hermes cashmere mustard colored scarf.

Add on a navy blue Samshield shadowmat helmet and your vintage style is ready for a casual ride.

Have a stylish ride!

Spring 2017 SPOGA favorites

spring-2017-spoga-favorites

A small selection of my favorite brands from SPOGA Feb 2017. It was the most wonderfully exciting weekend meeting amazing people, discover new brands and products and getting inspired for a whole new season of everything horse and fashion. The look today is compiled of my favorites shades of beige, black and brown: always classy and good for every season.

One of the great discoveries for me was the brand Uhip international. I’ve featured their items a few times already and have heard of the excellence of the products through friends, but now I got to get to know the brand, the people behind the brand and see the exquisite range live, and I must say I’m in LOVE! Wether you prefer a short, a medium or a long jacket: Uhip international has one for you to keep you looking stylish even in the harshest of winter weathers. Featured here is the Alaska jacket in chocolate brown.

I combined the jacket with another one of my pleasant discoveries: Vestrum. The brand has been around for a while, but has only recently come onto my radar, and I’m very happy it did! Class with a capital C – the ultimate equestrian luxury brand! I’ve added both the Oslo turtleneck cable knit sweater and the foulard Shanghai… it was hard to pick only two items, I really do like them all!

Euro-star has been around for quite some time, but manages to surprise me again and again with their innovative quality and excellent design in technical breeches. I have added the Miley Powergrip in Ebony to this look because I love the cut,  the full seat technical grip and the warm color.

KASK is really pushing the boat out this year with their fully customisable helmets: you can add just as much bling and detail as you wish to suite your style and there is always a helmet for every discipline. They have developed a technical grip inlay, that plays into the need to be able to wear your hair in a pony tail under your helmet without it sliding forward: a must try for both dressage riders and show jumpers! For this look I chose the Dogma model with Swarovski carpet and leather details in brown.

Alberto Fasciani has been one of my longtime favorites and I had the chance to discover a fee more of their fully personalised range at the SPOGA trade fair. I can’t wait for my new pair to arrive!! For now, I have added a boot from their standard collection (just as beautiful).

What’s a good look without some signature accessories, like the bit belt from HKM sports equipment, or the Arabella gloves from Hauke Schmidt. And of course, you’ll want to change your boots for a pair of cute city shoes when leaving the barn… I absolutely adore these Espoir points Derby shoes and I do believe they are the perfect spring equestrian companion.

Last but not least, a brand that always delivers the best styles for your horse and around the stable: PS of Sweden. The premium brown grooming bag is the perfect finishing touch for this SPOGA inspired look.

Black bronco

black-bronco

Rock this western inspired look for a training with your bucking bronco or a casual trek out into the woods with your english stye sport horse.

The R13 western shirt offer the best base for this black bronco look. ware it with a pair of Equi-Theme riding jodhpurs breeches and Alberto Fasciani short boots.

Layer on a cream colored Brunello Cucinelli Bead-embellished leather vest and top off the look with a Topshop Moto Denim Western Oversized Jacket.

Even western gals need to protect their heads, might as well do it in style with the Troxel Sierra helmet. Finish off your look with some stylish accessories like black  CLUSE Women’s La Boheme Leather Strap Watch, the Saint Laurent Women’s Leather Skinny Western Belt and Bandana-Print Étamine Scarf.

Red velvet layer cake

red-velvet-cake

Any good red velvet cake is made up out of scrumptious layers of red forest fruit, soft sponge cake and a sprinkling of dark chocolate. Same goes for this Red velvet layer cake #rootd.

The Tredstep 3rd symphony knee patch breeches in a soft beige shade are is the base layer of your red velvet look. Add on a casual Mountain Khakis Women’s Penny Plaid Shirt, with over that a Rock springs vest by Athleta and add on the last layer for a splash of fresh fruity color with a lightweight J.O.T.T. Chloe terra cotta down jacket.

Add a few more fruity velvety items like the Lacoste premium chantaco coated belt, a Rebecca Minkoff scarf and a Moschino hot pink backpack.

Top it all off with some chocolate details like the KEP Italia Cromo T polish matt helmet, a pair of SSG Gloves and the sporty and functional Alberto Fasciani Pedaso jumping / field boot.

Have a stylish ride!

Is it spring yet?

is-it-spring-yet

When browsing for inspiration for looks, I came across this gorgeous Stella McCartney Jay Landscape jacket and it reminded me of Spring. It’s almost spring, right? Well no, there are still quite a few more frosty weeks ahead, but in the meantime, we can bring that spring time feeling to life in this spring landscape inspired #rootd.

Because it’s still quite chilly out, I added on a the brown Vava vest from Prana to layer over a soft green Balmain wool turtleneck sweater. Tie the look together with a pair of ROMFH Sarafina full seat breeches and an Ideana woven horse stirrup detail belt.

The KASK Star lady helmet fits perfectly thanks to its beautiful shades of brown and bronze. Both the SSG Gloves and the Celeris Bia lace up boots are a great addition to the look in these beautiful shades of Cognac.

Top off the look with a matching FC Vegan Bags Vegan Clean Simple Tote Bag.

Keep dreaming of spring and have a stylish ride!

Blue Monday

blue-monday

We’re all feeling a bit down now the holidays are over. We’re facing a less than optimal bank account level, have gained a few extra pounds, are trudging through gloomy muddy cold weather and are returning back to work after some well deserved time off.

These factors all come together in a perfect storm for a single day believed to be the most depressing of the year: Blue Monday.

Beat those January blues with a super classy Blue and Lilac #rootd.

The midnight blue Vail jacket from Mountain Horse is a wonderful functional riding jacket keeping you warm and helping you ride in style on this blue Monday. The midnight blue Mountain Horse jacket and the Lilac BR Equestrian full seat silicone breeches represent one of my favourites color combo’s and I absolutely love how the Brochu Walker ombre cable knit sweater ties the whole look together. Wear it all with a pair of classic black Mountain Horse Sovereign field boots.

Mix up the colors with a midnight blue Samshield shadow mat helmet, Roeckl gloves and a pair of Hunter wellies to keep your feet dry in this wet cold weather. Keep warm with a lilac Becksondergaard crystal wool scarf and keep a pair of Finlay & co shades close by for the occasional rays of winter sunshine.

Have a stylish (Blue Monday) ride!
