Daisy blue

Daisy Blue

A floral take on a classic navy and beige #rootd. A few of the leading equestrian online shops have started to give some previews of spring / summer items that will be in stock soon: YAY! This super cute navy and daisy lightweight Michelle jacket from HV Polo was one of them and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

Wear it with a pair of classic beige Kingsland Kendra breeches and a preppy navy blue V-neck perfect fit logo sweater by Equestrianista collection worn over a Kingsland basic yet classy white Diamore showshirt.

This look is great with a pair of cognac Stivaleria Secchiari field boots, a Kudamono leather belt and matching Hauke Schmidt gloves.

Finish off the look with a classic navy blue KEP Italia helmet and bring all your weekend barn essentials with you in this gorgeous Oughton Limited City Lux M blue leather bag.

Have a wonderful weekend and a stylish ride!

Working 9 to 5

Working 9 to 5.png

“Workin’ 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin’ ” yeah, Dolly Parton got it right, we all wish we could be at the barn with our four-legged darlings all the time, but a girl’s gotta work to pay the vet, hay, feed, farrier, equestrian fashion, saddle pad addiction…. well you know, the endless list of glorious horse lovers’ costs.

So, if you do find yourself running from the business meeting to the bakery to the barn and back again, better make sure you do it in style.

We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy the very first rays of early spring sunshine over here and this immediately puts me into a springtime color mood incorporating lots of oranges and pinks into a still warm and functional street-to-stable #rootd.

Denim breeches are always a good way to take an equestrian outfit straight from the street to the stable, especially if they are as cute and classy as this pair of Cavallo Chaya grip breeches. Wear them with a bright orange Astraet turtleneck sweater and layer this super cute Patrizia Pepe tailored lightweight floral print down jacket on top.

For the street style part of the look, wear a pair of cognac suede New Balance sneakers to match your vintage Hermès belt and top it off with a pair of Illesteva blue toned aviator shades. Bring your office with you in style wherever the day might take you (barns are great remote working spaces, I promise!) with a computer bag and laptop cover to match your look.

For your ride, swap your sneaker for a pair of classic cognac colored polo style boots by Petrie, wear you matching Hauke Schmidt Arabella gloves and top it off with a blue One K Defender Helmet.

Wishing you a successful working week and a stylish ride!

Retro Rules!

Retro Rules!

Lovin’ the retro style items in the collection of Horseware this season, especially this super cute long sleeve knit top (that 70’s show anyone?), which was the inspiration for this retro look today.

This sweater looks great with a retro style denim jacket (everyone has a denim jacket in their wardrobe, right? Why not wear it to the barn!!) by New Look: cute, affordable and washable ;). This would also be a great look for a pair of beige breeches, like this classic Olympia pair by Ariat and of course you should add on a burnt orange retro looking lightweight down vest by Uniqlo for warmth and style.

Accessorize the look for a bit more of a street style edge with a burnt orange blanket style scarf by Weekday. For your ride, add some chocolate brown rider essentials to you look like the Charles Owen suede retro style GR8 helmet, a pair of Ariat Heritage contour field boots and a matching vintage belt. Then, change it up a little bit with a pair of Navy blue Roeckl gloves and finish off the retro style with a super practical and stunning PS of Sweden premium blue grooming bag.

Winter bloom

Winter bloom

I seem to be a bit obsessed with floral themed #rootd’s lately. It is, however, one of the ways I get through those dark winter days: bring some flowers into your home, stable or riding outfit and your mood is instantly lifted and brightened.

Sometimes it pays out to have a look outside of the regular equestrian sports offering and check out the ‘regular’ activewear section because then you might come across one of these gems like the Fenty x PUMA by Rihanna reversible mint bomber jacket with beautiful winter blossom print. Wear it with the pretty and practical Ariat Ideal down vest in the shade clothespin and an HV Polo blush pink Maddy turtleneck sweater.

Highlight the shades of green in the bomber jacket with a pair of Cavallo Calea grip breeches and add a minty blue Alexander McQueen scarf for a touch of style.

This look works best with some chocolate brown rider accessories like a pair of Roeckl grip gloves, Petrie Suede boots, and a matching Uvex Suxxeed Luxury helmet.

This look is perfect for heading straight from the street to the stable if you add a pair of blush pink UGG boots and aptly named “the Horse” watch and a polo lifestyle inspired La Martina Portena crossbody bag for your phone, money, and keys.

Frosted Tulip

Frosted Tulip

When searching for the perfect name to describe pretty much my favorite casual street-to-stable look for this season, I came across the name Frosted Tulip for this beautiful shade of soft and delicate pink and thought it would be a perfect fit for this late winter very very early spring warm, functional yet feminine #rootd.

Most of these items are in my wardrobe at the moment and this is one of my favorite ways to combine them all starting with the super cute softy pink House of Horses Helsinki raincoat. Not only is it extremely cute, it’s also functional with it being washable and has both side and back snaps to open it up during a rainy ride. I however also love just wearing out to town on a casual rainy day.

I love the pink and grey combo and usually wear the raincoat with a grey hoodie like this Equiline ‘Funny’ sweater and a pair of my favorite affordable and fabulous grey denim Crescendo breeches by Horze.

Add a pop of color to the look with the Ariat Lowell technical shirt and Ariat Ideal down vest in this beautiful shade of bright turquoise and accessorize it up with an H&M grey and pink scarf and a pair of matching Timberland light pink boots.

Add some classy navy blue riders essentials like the Samshield classic Shadowmat helmet, a pair of Roeckl gloves, Shop Hunt Club Victory Gallop Derby belt and a pair of dark blue Stivaleria Secchiari dressage boots.

Have a stylish ride!

Everything is better with a hint of mint

Everything is better with a bit of mint

Freshen up an already cool winter #rootd with some hints of mint this cold January. Lots of street fashion and funky accessories have gone into this riding look, which makes it the ideal street-to-stable or office-to-stable look for those busy back to work days.

I immediately fell in love with this Sportmax Code Geyser horse print sweater and just had to incorporate it into a street-to-stable outfit. I would love to wear this super cute sweater with a fresh minty Uniqlo rayon long sleeve and combine it with a pair of Cavallo Caro denim full seat breeches and a classic black Hugo Boss bomber jacket.

For the ‘street’ part of this street-to-stable ensemble add a pair of mint Nike Air Force 1 sneakers and a matching Barbour scarf.

For your ride, match you Kep Italia grey Cromo T helmet to your Uvex Sport syle winter gloves and grey trimmed Tucci classic Allegri field boots.

Now, for all the fabulous accessories that complete this look: start with minty fresh 90s style scrunchie to hold together your tresses during and after your ride, make sure you smell like winter walks and pine trees with this equestrian lifestyle inspired luxury fragrance 2nd by Daxau Style, then add a few subtle touches of rose gold with a Cluse x Negin Minuit watch and the must-have equestrian item of the year: the horse logo necklace by Desori horse.

Winter rose

Winter rose

We’ve had a sprinkle of glorious spring-like days over here with loads of sun, but still with that signature winter crisp in the air. It made me feel like already a little springtime inspo to a #rootd working with a few of this season’s favorites.

I absolutely adore this soft peach HKM Scotland vest especially paired with the H&M rose embroidered sweater (be quick, H&M styles disappear out of the shops super quick, but if sold out, you will always find a similar style there!) and a pair of moss green full seat Cavallo Cleo breeches.

Just this would combo be a bit too chilly for winter rides, so make sure you add a Paragon Equestrian Luxe Sport Baselayer underneath for an extra layer of style and warmth.

Track your New Year’s resolution fitness progress with a peachy pink FitBit and a matching I phone cover by Casetify and pull together your tresses with this peachy pink rose hair accessory: how cute is this popping from underneath your classic black KEP Italia Cromo T helmet?

Finish off the look with a moss green Mila Schön scarf, a pair of black Tucci Harley field boots and Ray-Ban aviator shades to shield your eyes from the low winter sun. Bring all your essentials for a street to stable barn day with you in the Asmar Equestrian Skyar weekend bag and you’re ready for a wonderful weather winter ride!

Have a stylish ride!

The office party

The office party

‘t is the season to be jolly…. and to have loads of offcie parties and end of year drinks planned. How to combine it all with your four legged friend? Here is some street to stable outfit inspo to get you through this festive period.

While in the office holding that second glass of bubbly, proudly sport your Dorothy Perkins reindeer Christmas sweater over a crisp white blouse, paired with your Paragon Equestrian luxury riding leggings with that cheecky snake print full seat grip. They look especially great with a pair of killer boots like these See by Chloe fringe ankle booties. Keep warm with this cheap and cheerful yet super stylish Zaful plaid belted wool blend coat.

Bring your keys and phone in this classy black Mango pebbled cross boday bag and keep your winter locks in check with a matching Alpaca beanie.

Head straight to the barn after your work drinks and swap your coat for a Just Over The Top Cha lightweight down jacket, exchange the booties for a pair of stunning Stivaleria Secchiari boots and head out for your ride wearing the KEP Italia Cromo textile helmet and a pair of Samshield hunter gloves.

Enjoy the holiday parties and have a stylish ride!

Boyfriend material

Boyfriend material

Who doesn’t love a good flannel boyfriend shirt from time to time? It’s the perfect partner to layer into a winter riding outfit, especially if it combines some of this seasons hottest colors in an unusual yet stunning way.

I came accross this marroon and orange Campus Emporium flanel plaid boyfirend shirt and it immediately inspired me to do this casual street to stable outdoorsy #rootd. Especially because it goes so well when worn with a cheecky rolled up sleeve over the BR Equestrian equipment burnt orange Titiana roll neck base layer and it also works amazingly well with a pair of maroon Cavallo Cera grip breeches.

The grey full seat detail in the breeches provides the perefct theme fro the rest of the look with an ANKY Technical Casuals lightweight silver grey down jacket, a pair of Uvex Sport style glamour gloves, a One K Defender grey helmet and a matching Shop Hunt Club ‘Flying Cange’ derby belt.

Finish off the look with a maroon knitted scarf by Pieces and a pair of grey multipurpose snuggly warm boots: the Coniston H2O waterproof and insulated outdoor boots by Ariat. Your best partner for winter walks, muddy paddocks and hacks in the countryside.

The French connection

The French connection

A winter outfit with a little ‘je ne sais quoi’.

I was searching for a few statement pieces in a warm and wonderful mustard color and came across this Cloe lightweight packable down jacket by Just Over The Top (JOTT), a French brand that has quickly become THE authority in functional and fashionable lightweight down wear.

So, I continued the French connection today with a Pirate top by French brand Dada Sport and a pair of Harcour Eva breeches.

Of course, I had to add the quintessentially French brand Lacoste into the mix with a navy blue belt and burgundy scarf and topped it off with an Antarès Sellier Galaxy helmet.

To finalize this look, I had to search a bit further abroad for the best fitting items like a pair of Hauke Schmidt / Magic Tack gloves (Germany), a Forever 21 mustard colored beanie (US), a pair of Stivaleria Secchiari blue boots (Italy) and last but not least these super cute Ralph Lauren rubber Jodphur boots.

Hope you’re loving the French connection as much as I do!

Bisous, bon weekend and have a stylish ride!
