Kicking off 2018 in style!

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to continue bringing the glamour factor to the barn with lots of fabulous street to stable #rootd’s and I thought we’d kick off 2018 in style with this gold and glittery look.

It’s easy to amp up the glamour factor while still putting together a functional riding outfit with this super cute Marc Jacobs super sized sequin sweater. Wear it with a pair of basic Pikeur Lugana breeches and emphasize the gold and glitter with a Just over the Top Rica gold puffer jacket.

Ride in style with some chocolate brown rider essentials, like the Kempkens lace-up patent leather dressage boots, the KEP Italia Cromo T helmet with Croco detail and a pair of gold trimmed Roeckl Julia gloves.

Add a few more touches of glitter and gold with a MagicTack stone encrusted brown belt and a Valentino sequin gold silk scarf. Finish off your look with some beige and gold statement pieces like the aptly named ‘The Horse’ watch and a pair of Ariat Henley outdoor shoes to change into after your ride.

Wishing you all the most wonderful things you can think of for 2018!

Have a stylish ride!

b and b

A bit of Blue and Blush (B&B) to get you through a cold and harsh winter’s day. And, as a bonus, I’ve added another “B” in the mix: a classy shade of brown to pull together the whole look.

I’m a huge fan of tailored shirts for riding, especially in spring and autumn, but for wintertime, why not layer one of those beautiful shirts by Fior da Liso, like this baby blue and blush Diana II one underneath a blush pink LK Bennet Adele cashmere sweater.

Wear it all with a pair of timeless chocolate brown Macy breeches by BR Equestrian and top it off with a beautiful shiny navy blue Bianca jacket by HV Polo.

This is to perfect look with which to rock a pair of metallic blue boots, like these Ottaviano boots by De Niro Boot Co, especially when paired with a sleek Samshield blue helmet and brown Roeckl Julis gloves. Then, add on a matching Pampeano polo belt for function and style during your ride.

After your ride, swap your helmet for an H&M blush pink pompom beanie and your beautiful boots for a pair of functional and funky baby blue Hunter wellies.

Special Edition: The stylish equestrian for Brianna Zwilling

Screen Shot 2017-11-28 at 15.30.49.pngMeet Brianna Zwilling: young equestrian entrepreneur, dressage trainer, successful competitor and stylish equestrian.

Brianna Zwilling grew up in Minnesota, working at a local horse stable in exchange for lessons and board for her first horse – a feisty, stubborn Arabian. She explored various disciplines (including western), but was drawn to dressage in the end because of the harmony that is achieved between horse & rider and the immense depth of learning needed to excel.

In 2009, Brianna and her Oldenburg gelding DiMaggio represented Region 4 in the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships. They earned 6th place in the team competition. During that year, they also won two regional championship titles, Young Rider Prix St. Georges and Fourth Level Freestyle with a score of 77+%. DiMaggio is still going strong & now teaching some of Brianna’s students, even helping one of her riders earn a Bronze medal in 2015.

Screen Shot 2017-11-28 at 15.31.34Brianna enjoys training horses at all levels, but is especially interested in working with young horses to patiently build strong basic skills. So she started the journey again with a new horse in 2012. While not really looking to buy for herself, she sat on a 4 year old that was for sale. After one ride, Brianna knew she had to have this horse and scraped together everything she had to buy Griffindor (“Opie”), a sensitive and big moving Oldenburg.

The two successfully qualified and competed at the first US Dressage Finals in 2013 where they placed 6th in the nation at First Level. They returned in 2015 earning National Champion Third Level Freestyle. In 2016, Opie showed his first season of Prix St. Georges and the pair have their sights set on Grand Prix in a few years.

The rider that inspires Brianna the most is Betsy Steiner. She is a very dedicated and hard working horse woman who is always positive and has a true love and passion for horses. “Her riding shows beautiful harmony and grace, and her horses are so happy in their work. I have been clinicing with Betsy for about 3 years now and I feel inspired every time I ride for her.”
Screen Shot 2017-12-05 at 10.29.20Brianna’s busy horse life based in St Louis Missouri includes training, teaching and showing. She currently has over 20+ horses in training, teaches lessons everyday, including students that trailer in for lessons. During the summer months, she’ll travel to shows 2-3 weekends a month and hosts clinics at her own barn as much as possible to keep learning and exposing her horses to new challenges. If this is not enouch for this young equestrian entrepreneur, she is also trainig hard to start her own horse “Opie” at Grand Prix level.

Brianna likes to present herself in a stylsh and professional way. Her riding wear is her ‘office’ wear and she takes her appeareance as seriously as her strive for perfection in working with her horses and students. She loves combining rich blues, maroons, shades of grey and black and a bit of bling when competing with her Rock House Couture stock ties (one of her proud sponsors). We have compiled a versatile and stylish layered look for Brianna today to take her from those chilly Missouri mornings all the way though hot afternoons and cool evenings.

Brianna was ademement that her look included some of her favorite brands, especially Mastermind breeches: “they are my absolute favorite”. So we included a pair of Mastermind Mindy Slate breeches paired with a Arista Equestrian technical quarter zip training top layered under an Ariat basis full zip light weight sweater and Silver Pikeur down vest.

She loves Cavallo boots and these beautiful maroon Primus Pro lace-up boots are a perfect fit for the look, especially when combined with a matching light weight Bikkembergs scarf and Charlotte Russe velvet skinny belt.

We added in a pair of no miss Julia gloves by Roeckl, a pair of her favorite New Balance sneakers to change into in between rides and finished it off with her signature Samshield helmet.

Perk up with pink

Perk up with pink

The days are getting ever shorter, darker and greyer so make sure to perk up your ride with some hints of hot pink this winter.

Hot pink is best combined with some sophisticated shades like emerald green and soft grey, so let’s start with these first. A pair of Euro Star CoCo Glam full seat breeches is always a good idea, especially when worn with an emerald green Bella Freud Libertas Chainstitch Jumper and a lighter shade of green for the Mountain Khakis Old Faithful Sweater Vest. Accessorize your look with a Back on Track grey Welltex infused scarf and a pair of M by Missoni emerald green paddock boots.

Chocolate brown rider essentials are the best companions for this look like the Samshield  Shadowmatt helmet, a pair of Roeckl Julia gloves and Cavallo Janne Pro boots.

Now, for the pops of pink, add on an HV Polo Kirby jacket, a Euro Star classy plaited belt, and a Mango basic ribbed beanie.

Dear Dot

Dear Dot

Dear Dot,

Thank you for so elegantly placing yourself in many lovely shades onto this exquisite Marc Jacobs wool sweater so that it could be part of today’s street to stable style #rootd.

Yours sincerely,

The stylish equestrian

I decided to celebrate the dot today by complementing the dots featured in the sweater with a high street dark green tailored shirt, a pair of Ariat Olympia classic beige breeches and a J.O.T.T. Seda vest in the most beautiful shade of brown.

This would be a perfect look for a pair of Petrie Significant custom dressage boots and a matching KEP Italia Cromo T helmet.

Accessorize the dot inspired look with a Kudamono belt, a pair of Roeckl grip gloves and a Roxy beanie. Then, finish it off with a polo-inspired mini crossbody Portena bag by La Martina.

Have a wonderful weekend and a stylish ride!

Fabulous fall fashion

Fall fabulous

I love this time of year: New fashion, new colors, new layers to turn into new styles. Join me in falling in love with some fabulous fall equestrian fashion with this Autumnal hued #rootd.

One of my favorite colors (after of course the classic burgundy) for this season is most certainly burnt orange, so I was extremely happy to come across this lightweight quilted Horseware Heritage jacket with suede details and put together a fall #rootd around it.

I would wear it with a pair of super sophisticated BR Equestrian Macy knee patch brown breeches and the Ariat Lowell 1/4 zip technical shirt in the cutest hunter print.

Accessorize this look to wear it straight from street to stable with a pair of Montar Croco short boots, a Kamila Lima Miss Eve cross body bag, a Gucci flower buckle belt and Dsquared2 deer printed silk scarf.

Get ready to ride by wearing your brown suede Samshield Miss shield helmet, a pair of Roeckl Julia gloves and Ariat Concord half chaps.

Have a stylish ride!

A bit of Britt

A bit of Britt

OK, I admit…. I got a bit carried away, but who can resist a bit of Burberry Britt? Especially when it’s this extremely cute and functional dusty pink Maggie down vest, with a matching Check piqué polo shirt and Heacham sneakers?

Right, enough now, time to tone down the Britt-ness and turn this into an actual #rootd with a pair of stylish washed denim Animo Nax breeches and a Mountain Horse street sweater.

Keep the rider essential sleek and sophisticated with a pair of Cavallo Linus Jump boots, an H&M black basic belt, a pair of Uvex Sport style gloves and black KEP Italia cromo textile and shine helmet.

… and then for the final touch to this street to stable look…. a dusty pink signature plaid Burberry scarf (sorry, couldn’t resist).

Have a stylish ride!

I love Lily

I love lily

I love Lily, the Lily waterproof jacket by Rönner design to be specific. You might have seen a few pictures pass by on Instagram stories already and I promise there will be one coming up of me wearing this beauty in a #rootd, but for now, here is how I would style this in between season must have.

Wear this mesh lined, lightweight jacket with a classic navy Digione polo shirt by Vestrum and a pair of sleek and stylish beige breeches like this Asmar Equestrian classic.

Navy blue works great with this look when it comes to gloves and helmets: I’ve added the my very own classic Samshield shadow mat helmet and a pair of my favourite Roeckl grip gloves to the look.

I always love a good pair of brown boot with a blue look and these Petrie Athene polo style boots are certainly a perfect companion for this outfit, especially when paired with a matching vintage Valentino belt.

are this look from stable to street by exchanging your boots for a pair of baby blue Puma sneaker and bringing your keys and your phone with you in a polo inspired La Martina Portena cross body bag.

Dusty pink for days

Dusty pink for days

I may have accidentally gone on a mini shopping spree this weekend, which included one (or more) dusty pink pieces to take me from summer to the first cooler days of autumn. So, I thought I’d put my shopping spree to good use and make it the inspiration for a today’s #rootd.

Have you seen this Ted Baker velvet quilted bomber jacket? I love everything about it, the material, the color, the cut and… the washability 😉 Wear it with a sleek black Burberry classic polo shirt and a pair of grey Euro-Star Coco Glam full seat breeches.

Accessorise the look with a pair of classic back lace up Cavallo Primus boots, Uvex sport style glamour gloves, Back on Track scarf and a Gucci horse bit leather belt.

Add on a final touch of dusty pink with a pair of Chiara Ferragni collection Candy flirting slip on sneakers to change into after your ride.

Have a stylish ride!

Mid season must have

Mid season must have

Technically it’s still summer…. but I can already feel a little chill creeping up on us in the early mornings and late evenings…. so, best to get ready to dress for the awkward cold morning/hot day in between season weather.

The newest addition to the Uhip line-up is the perfect piece for that indecisive in-between-weather day: The Hybrid short sleeve jacket offers a mix of fabrics and insulation for warmth and weather protection where exposure is greatest and breathability where body heat needs to escape. The hybrid construction also offers a flexibility and freedom of movement for activities outdoors, like riding of course.

Stylish and functional, what’s not to love? Wear it with a pair of navy blue Ego7 Silicone full seat breeches and a white sleeveless Adidas x Stella McCartney polo (…another example of perfect functional style!).

Accessorise your look highlighting the orange and navy blue color scheme with a pair of Covalliero Gloria marine gloves, the sophisticated KEP Italia helmet, a woven orange belt and a pair of dark blue Stivaleria Secchiari boots.

Adda a few more touches of orange to take this look from stable to street with a pair of vintage Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses and Hogan sneakers.

Have a stylish ride!
