Special Edition: The stylish equestrian for Marie Medosi

Marie Medosi final
imageMeet Marie Medosi: talented musician, dressage professional and stylish equestrian.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Marie started riding when she was 9 years old.  She grew up galloping on the beach of Waimanalo, jumping over 4 feet, running barrels and poles, and competing in Hunter, Jumper, and Dressage recognized competitions. Her parents supported her riding as much as possible, but couldn’t afford a horse, so Marie worked doing barn chores in order to ride as many horses as possible in as many different disciplines as possible.

This experience led her ultimately to a career in dressage, which combined everything she loved in life into one discipline. She worked her way up to a trainers position in one of the top barns in the US located in San Diego, training with Olympians Sue Blinks, Guenter Seidel, Christine Traurig and more.

She now calls San Diego home and continues her own lifelong education in riding here while sharing her knowledge with a diverse group of horses and serious students. Marie also composes dressage freestyles and has a studio to create music that will perfectly suit a rider’s performance. She most recently composed a freestyle for Steffen Peters and Suppenkasper.

imageWith more than 20 years of riding experience with more than 10 years spent in Olympian trainer programs, Marie brings her own intense training experiences into your life. In her own quest for the Olympics, Marie brings a love of horses, a passion for the art of dressage and the sport of riding together. With a music and dance background, she brings a depth of understanding of rhythm, relaxation, technique, refinement, and true basics to the forefront of her training program

Marie’s classic style and work ethic is inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Coco Chanel whom she recalls discussing at length with her grandmother
“Just like I imagine Coco Chanel and many others who clawed their way up the fashion ladder, I was in the trenches for many years, developing my craft as a working student on a farm girls budget.”
 – Marie Medosie

Timeless, simple elegance.

That really sums up Marie’s style. She enjoys balancing the art and sport that is Dressage and appreciates being well dressed in the style of the Equestrian world. Sarm Hippique’s elite collections are close to her heart in superior quality and design and in their story, as the brand developed from a family of seamstresses needing a better option for their equestrian children. They also are from a little town north of Milan, Italy, neighboring her father’s hometown of Cremona. She also loves the reliability of Pikeur’s stitch and longevity of their breeches and Noel Asmar’s various shirt collections.  Marie loves the comfort and fit, and colors of Mastermind’s collections which also never sacrifice elegance.
Screen Shot 2018-04-25 at 17.46.21Marie loves a burst of color on an otherwise simple canvas. A deep burgundy, or a dark orange, or various shades of blue or green, which go with her boldly red hair. A deep blue is one of her staples too, and you can never go wrong with the classic black and white combo.
For Marie’s look today we went with some of her favorite brands and color combinations, starting with a pair of burgundy and slate grey Mastermind breeches. We added on a classic Asmar Equestrian training shirt in dark blue with grey detailing and layered on a matching Uniqlo vest. Then, we accessorized her look with her signature Samshield helmet and De Niro boots, a pair of Roeckl grip gloves and a pair of Foot Huggies riding boot socks. We finished off the look with a matching Asmar Equestrian belt and a Kingsland navy and burgundy hat to shield Marie from the sun while teaching outdoors.

Special Edition: The stylish equestrian for Scarlett Wyrobnik

Scarlett W final
Meet Scarlett Wyrobnik: Dressage rider, equestrian lifestyle ambassador and stylish equestrian.
Scarlett 1.pngScarlett has been riding since she was six years old. She started riding together with her older sister Jillian during the holidays and their parents, who were wonderfully obsessed with horses as too, were very supportive of the girls’ passion.
When she was 12 years old, Scarlett got her first very own horse Mistral. She did however have to share it with her sister.
They both learned a lot on Mistral and they were successful up to level M in dressage and showjumping with him.
Soon Scarlett had the chance to start working with young budding horses, and she decided to follow her passion and focus on dressage riding. With one of her favorite horses Rubina (lovingly called Kitty around the barn),  she learned everything up to level S. She got Kitty  when the mare was five and now she is now 16 years old.
Scarlett 2.pngUnfortunately, Kitty is suffering from laminitis and is not able to be ridden anymore, but she is enjoying her early retirement with Scarlett, always remaining her better half.
Sansibar joined Scarlett in November 2015 and is following in Kitty’s footsteps.
She trains this talented horse patiently, with love and harmony to hopefully have their first competition in a level L dressage test soon.
She wishes for the both of them that Sansibar stays healthy so she can continue with him where she had to stop with Kitty.
Scarlett and Sansibar are dreaming of someday riding their first Grand Prix together! Who knows,  according to Scarlett everything is possible with the right amount of discipline.
Scarlett’s role models in equitation are Hannelore Brenner, who is a paraequestrian for Germany and Uta Gräf. The fascinating part about Brenner is how she handles her handicap, trains her horses and offers them a great life.
Scarlett 3She loves Gräfs joyful spirit, which she transfers to her students. Scarlett finds herself very lucky to have experienced Uta Gräfs inspirational style when she participated in a few of her training courses.
Interesting facts about Scarlett are that she could watch her horses eating hay for hours. For her it’s better than watching TV 😉
Furthermore, she loves rides outside with her horses and her dog Zoé. Also, she takes great care of her equipment and a weekly cleanse is a must for her.
Scarlett’s favorite colors are muted tones like brown, black, grey and blue and loves it when everything matches. Every once in a while she’ll like to add a pop of bright red or blue to her look and match patterns to her horses’ gear.
We’ve put a look together today for Scarlett that incorporates not only her favourite hues, but also some of her all time favourite brands. She loves wearing Pikeur breeches and we went for the new Clarissa grip in navy blue. As a lover of matching outfits, we combined the breeches with a navy blue Mountain Horse long sleeve Alyssa polo and a navy blue HV Polo must have ‘Cheval’ vest (… a vest is really a must have versatile item for Scarlett). For an extra layer of comfort and style, we’ve added a grey Naketano zip hoodie, which is one of Scarlett’s favourite brands as well.
You’ll see Scarlett in a few different types of Samshield helmets and for this look we chose the classic Shadowmat navy blue one and added a Kingsland Delano navy blue baseball cap for after her ride. Playing on the blue and grey colorscheme we added a pair of Uvex sportstyle gloves and a true ‘equinelife’ necessity: a Horze grooming bag.
We finished off the look with a pair of Königs lace-up polo caramel colored boots and matched them to a Liebeskind Berlin braided belt.

The most important thing for Jeannette is good horsemanship and good riding in any discipline.
JA 2Jeannette currently lives in Aachen, Germany, which is definitely a rider’s city (did someone say CHIO Aachen?). She studied in Münster (literature, biology, sociology), worked in Berlin for a big national newspaper, then as an editor for a big horse magazine, then got pregnant, moved back home and now lives in the countryside in a gorgeous farm house. She currently only owns a very cute german riding pony, as unfortunately her warmblood mare recently passed away. Jeannette not only loves horses, but also has a great love for dogs. Her favorite dogs are Dalmatians, and she assures us she will own one again at some time (her dog sadly passed recently as well…).
Jeannette describes her style as classic and practical, with a hint of fashion items here and there, however, she says she still has some potential to develop her style even more. Not having too much time to think about the best combinations (being a  full-time freelancer, a mom and a horse addict), we have kept it practical, simple and stylish in shades of navy blue and grey for Jeannette’s look today.
We’ve included some of Jeannette’s favourite brands in the look for example the Cavallo Primus black lace-up boots, Cavallo Happy technical jacket, and a pair of Roeckl grip gloves. She is also a big fan of Pikeur breeches, so we included the Darjeen grip grey jeans from the Pikeur summer 17 collection. For a hint of fashion, we added a cute Stella McCartney T shirt with shirt motif and added and extra layer for warmth with the white Herno zipped hooded gilet. We accessorised the look with an HKM bit belt and a Uvex Carbon Suxxeed helmet. Being a busy lady, Jeanette will always need a big bag to bring along all her daily essentials and what better than a cheap and cheerful H&M silver shopper. And, last but not least, we added the must have barn essential: a pair of Jeanette’s favourite wellies from Joules.
