The velvet revival

velvet-revival

To any of you that survived the 90’s velvet trend, the thought of wearing it again might make you cringe a little. However, the trend second time around is actually not so bad. When worn in a subtle way and with a great cut, velvet can really add that extra edge to your #rootd.

How about this lush fuchsia Opening Ceremony Croc-Embossed Velvet Bomber Jacket? Cute isn’t it? Wear it with a soft grey Cambridge J. Crew cable knit sweater and a pair of dark grey Euro-Star Domino flex riding breeches.

Accessories with a pair of Samshield gloves, a Moschino heart buckle belt and a Marc Jacobs phone case. Best companions for this look are a pair of classic black De Niro field boots and a custom KEP Italia velvet polish cromo T helmet.

Finish the look with a touch of classy vintage style with a second hand Louis Vuitton logo scarf and a MANGO soft grey velvet baseball cap.

Have a stylish ride!

Mr Brightside

If like me, you’re so fed up with grey gloomy cold weather, then this is the #rootd for you. Inject a big pop of bright color into your #rootd and instantly feel energised and ready for your ride!

When I saw this Gucci Flower and tiger-appliqué jersey bomber jacket, I just had to create a #rootd around it: it’s so fabulously fashionable and bright! Wear it with a bright red  PrAna Lyra lightweight vest and over a yellow Air Jumper By Scaglione T-shirt and a pair of bright blue Pikeur Abigail full seat breeches.

Add a few more pops of color with a pair of red SSG Gloves, a yellow Reality Studio ‘Michel’ baseball cap and bring your keys, phone and pennies to the barn in a DKNY Bryant Park Mini Flap Crossbody Viridian shoulder bag.

Keep the rider accessories black and classy with a KASK Dogma helmet, a pair of Ariat field boots and match it all with a MANGO black basic belt.

Have a bright and stylish ride!

Orange & Olive

oo

… Orange and Olive … a marvellous combination of colors creating a stunningly strong winter #rootd. I always love adding a pop of color to any outfit and this luscious orange shade really adds a lot of zing.

I started of with the Schockemoehle Libra breeches, just because I adore this shade of olive so much and wanted to do another #rootd with it. Then I came across this bright and vibrant orange Marmot Jena vest and thought it was a perfect match with the breeches. Nothing beats a simple classic black turtle neck sweater by Emporio Armani, and to my pleasant surprise I found a lightweight jacket from NewChic tying the whole look together.

I added on some classic black rider accessories like the C.S.Simko belt (as seen on Madonna during the Women’s March in January), a pair of Celeris bespoke black riding boots with matching boot (spur) protectors, a pair of BR equestrian All weather pro gloves and the KASK Dogma light helmet.

To brighten the whole thing up a little, I added an orange Hermes after-ride-helmet-hair-solution baseball cap and a vintage Fendi 2jours large shopper for all your equestrian essentials.

Have a stylish ride!

Is it spring yet?

When browsing for inspiration for looks, I came across this gorgeous Stella McCartney Jay Landscape jacket and it reminded me of Spring. It’s almost spring, right? Well no, there are still quite a few more frosty weeks ahead, but in the meantime, we can bring that spring time feeling to life in this spring landscape inspired #rootd.

Because it’s still quite chilly out, I added on a the brown Vava vest from Prana to layer over a soft green Balmain wool turtleneck sweater. Tie the look together with a pair of ROMFH Sarafina full seat breeches and an Ideana woven horse stirrup detail belt.

The KASK Star lady helmet fits perfectly thanks to its beautiful shades of brown and bronze. Both the SSG Gloves and the Celeris Bia lace up boots are a great addition to the look in these beautiful shades of Cognac.

Top off the look with a matching FC Vegan Bags Vegan Clean Simple Tote Bag.

Keep dreaming of spring and have a stylish ride!
