About

Clarissa Spirig

Once upon a time I was a little girl with big dreams that I promised I’d make real one day… And like every little girl, I was completely addicted to horses.

I started riding at the age of 6 and spent every school-free moment in the stable until high school. Then I completely stopped riding as I had to prioritize on my study and my career. Until just 5 years ago, when our daughter was born, whom I since the first second love from the bottom of my heart. Feeling this deep love made me realize that a piece of my heart was missing. I remembered the dream I had when I was a little girl – the dream about horses, my own horses! And I realized how much I wanted to work and spend time with them. So I decided to make my dream come true, started my own business and bought young and talented dressage horses.  Clarissa Spirig Equestrian was born! http://www.clarissa-equestrian.com

Now every time I look at my amazing horses all I feel is pure blessing.
Always hold on to your vision. Follow your passion, have the courage to do what makes your heart happy and work hard! Never lose focus and always prioritize things in your life to realize your dream.
The best view comes after the hardest climb!
Strive to live your dream.

At the end, I’m just a girl who decided to go for it.

Love, Clarissa ❤

Mint made my day

mad for mint

Oh, I’m so excited! it’s going to one of those wonderfully busy spring sunshine filled days! Best find a #rootd in which I can do it all: groom, ride, support from the sideline and have a drink in the early spring sun with friends!

I got inspired to do this color scheme by a post from my friend and equestrian fashion blogger @correctlead, who did a fabulous minty color inspo post and decided to give this color scheme a go myself.

I was super happy to find this lightweight mint colored varsity bomber jacket by GAP, as I love layering fashion to create a spring outfit. Wear it over a Kingsland Shalotte showshirt and a classic grey Kingsland Kiawah V-neck sweater. The Kudamono denim breeches are the ideal street to stable pair for any outfit and they go exceptionally well with this look today.

Cognac colored polo boots have been on my wishlist for a very long time, and one day a pair of these beauties will be mine. For now,  I can only dream about how I would style a pair like the Cavallo Polo Novellus boots into a springtime look. Match your Roeckl grip gloves and a big scarf to your boots and then finish off the look with a minty green Valentino Rockstud skinny stud belt, a cognac and mint V°73 Montenapoleone large tote Bag and finally a Uvex Succeed Glamour helmet.

Enjoy this early spring day and have a stylish ride!!

BLOOM!

Bloom.png

Hey spring, is that you? It’s ok, you can come on out now, we’re ready!! Springtime always makes me think of those lovely delicate brave little flowers in bloom braving the possibilities of frost at night and brightening up our countryside one petal at a time.

New springtime collections are out now too, and this makes me a very happy equestrian fashion blogger: loads of new styles and colors to choose from and today I thought I’d highlight one of my favorite horse tack brands that have ventured into fashion this springtime: PS of Sweden.

Isn’t this just the cutest and most functional in-between-season vest? Available in navy and soft pink, this PS of Sweden Ingrid vest will be your best 2018 spring companion. I paired it with these lovely light olive Cavallo Ciora breeches and a soft and luxurious Cremosa Relaxed Sweater in Grey by Alessandro Albanese, which looks great with a grey Shop Hunt Club Flying Change Derby belt.

The spring bloom is highlighted in the accessories for this look: Gucci has some super elegant spring themed items in their collection like this square scarf and the small Dyonisus bloom print bag.

Shade your eyes during your ride with a pair of Ted Baker shades and protect your head in style with a grey star silver KEP Italia helmet.

Trade your cognac Petrie classic Polo boots for a pair of Tods Gommino loafers after your ride and your look is ready for you to meet your friends in town for your first iced latte of the season!

Have a stylish ride!

Happy Valentines Day

VDay18

Sharing some Valentine’s Day love with your loved ones, family and four-legged friends today? Why not do it in true Valentine’s Day style! Here are some great LOVE items for you that come together in the ultimate Valentines Day #rootd.

One of my all-time forever love-items is the Asmar Equestrian special edition rider jacket.I have this beauty in Olive green, but look how fabulous this red one is!! It’s not the warmest, so for these cold winter days, best to layer something lightweight underneath like this black Ariat Pivot asymmetrical zip vest.

This time of the year offers the cutest Valentine’s day themed sweaters and this year I went for the Zoe Karssen LOVE embroidered sweatshirt. Add a pair of classy black breeches like the Euro Star Laureta Full Grip and your Valentine’s Day look is almost ready to share some love!

It just needs some statement accessories like a pair of custom black Petrie Croco boots finished with red piping, a red-hot Asmar Equestrian Croco leather belt, a pair of matching spur straps, Hauke Schmidt black Touch of Class gloves and a classy black KEP Italia Cromotextile match helmet.

Happy Valentine’s day and have a stylish ride!

Lotsa Love,

The stylish equestrian

The grey scale

Grey scale

Inspired by my visit to SPOGA, the international equestrian trade fair, earlier this week, I thought I’d highlight a few brands that really stood out for me in terms of style, innovation, and functionality. Unfortunately, I can’t reveal the upcoming winter 18/19 collections just yet, but here’s a look compiled of my brand favorites’ items available right now.

Vestrum has made me fall in love with them all over again with a classic, timeless collection incorporating classy horse prints, exquisite materials (suede competition jacket anyone?) and sophisticated color pallet. I’ve added one of my favorite horse print sweaters from their current collection as a teaser of fabulous things to come.

Kingsland has really grown into the classic style fashion brand tailored to equestrian needs over the past few years and with their 6 collections coming out throughout the year (classic collection, 4 seasonal collections, and dressage collection), there will always be something to fit your style, the weather, and equestrian needs. I’ve added the super cute white polo / show shirt Shallotte to this grey scale set today because it looks fabulous under the classy Vestrum sweater.

La Valencio is one of those relatively new innovative brands that has the capability to shake up the industry with fresh and funky new items. The color schemes for the upcoming seasons are delicious, but for now, I’ve added the shiny black and silver detail Ingma jacket to this look.

Alberto Fasciani is and will probably remain my absolute favorite for a classic Italian style quality riding boot. They have come with a few innovations and collaborations that will make any boot lovers heart beat faster but for this look, I’ve kept it classic black with the model 919.

Have you seen the stunning collection of gold-plated spurs from U Black rider? Such a beautiful gift or a stunning addition to any respectable riders’ wardrobe. My favorites are of course the Rose gold ones, but I felt that the Ruthenium spurs were a better fit for this look today.

KEP Italia had me at there stand like a kid in a candy store: so many different colors, styles and looks to choose from, I could not tell you which one was my favorite this year. Not only do the helmets look great, they are also lightweight, breathable, comfortable and safe. This look called for the KEP Italia special edition shiny cromo metal star silver grey helmet.

Roeckl gloves are the best companion to top off any look, especially if they are as warm and beautiful as the lack and silver Julia gloves. There are some very exciting color combo’s coming up for next season!

Not at SPOGA this year, but for me always top of mind: Kudamono. Slowly but surely establishing themselves as the ultimate casual lifestyle equestrian denim brand, their grey denim full seat breeches deserve a spot in this grey scale outfit.

A few more honorable SPOGA mentions will have to go to:

Makebe: such a classy Italian brand, they will be bringing us the most stunning tailored items for the upcoming seasons, with one of my favorite sets of the whole trade fair: a pin-stripe suit. Business worthy as well as barn ready: the perfect street or office to stable look…. coming soon!!

Stay tuned to discover all of the fabulous new fashion right here at the Stylish Equestrian!!

Daisy blue

Daisy Blue

A floral take on a classic navy and beige #rootd. A few of the leading equestrian online shops have started to give some previews of spring / summer items that will be in stock soon: YAY! This super cute navy and daisy lightweight Michelle jacket from HV Polo was one of them and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

Wear it with a pair of classic beige Kingsland Kendra breeches and a preppy navy blue V-neck perfect fit logo sweater by Equestrianista collection worn over a Kingsland basic yet classy white Diamore showshirt.

This look is great with a pair of cognac Stivaleria Secchiari field boots, a Kudamono leather belt and matching Hauke Schmidt gloves.

Finish off the look with a classic navy blue KEP Italia helmet and bring all your weekend barn essentials with you in this gorgeous Oughton Limited City Lux M blue leather bag.

Have a wonderful weekend and a stylish ride!

Crimson classic

Crimson classic

Ever since I received the beautiful Crimson Project No.1 riding tights by Pro Riding Gear, I’ve been playing around with the many many ways to style it into a #rootd. Today I went for a classic mix of winter statement colors and must-have accessories.

As mentioned previously, it all started with the Pro Riding Gear Project No. 1 Crimson riding tights, on which you can read a full review right HERE. I love the way this color works with mustardy yellow hues, so I added a basic cable knit sweater by Oasis and topped it off with a Navy blue HV Polo Bianca lightweight down jacket.

I have continued the classic navy blue in the Magic Tack gloves, Samshield Helmet and Cavallo Primus Pro lace-up dressage boots. Then, I added some crimson and mustard street to stable accessories with the Crimson Lacoste scarf and matching Barney’s NY phone case wristlet and the mustard Adidas by Stella McCartney beanie, classic Timberland boots, and Steve Alan Camden Crossbody tote bag.
