Winter is coming!

Winter is coming

Ah yes, finally a chance to reference the famous sentence from Game of Thrones: “Winter is coming”. It was the first thing that popped into my head when is saw the beautiful Ice Blue Mary HV Polo jacket especially in combination with the winter sky grey Uniqlo ultralight down vest.

Wear them with a cloudy soft white HV Polo turtleneck sweater and a pair of navy blue Covalliero full seat Techno breeches.

Get winter ready with some matching accessories like the Hauke Schmidt & Magic Tack gloves, a super soft and warm grey Calvin Klein Honeycomb knit beanie and Joules Orna foil printed scarf.

Listen to some tunes and get into the mood for your ride (as well as keeping your ears warm) with a pair of icy blue Urban Ears Plattan headphones and hop on your horse in style with a pair of Kingsley custom light blue lace-up boots and the Uvex Suxxeed Glamour in Navy blue with silver grey accents.

Have a stylish ride!

In mood for mauve

In the mood for mauve

I’m in the mood for a bit of mauve today: that particular hue somewhere between purple and brown that suits this autumn season perfectly.

I came accross this super cute Jane bomber jacket by ELT Waldhausen, which I would happily wear to go shopping as well as to the stables and paired it with a Harcour technical zip hoodie and a Pikeur  premium Rosella base layer tehnical shirt.

Grey denim breeches pretty much look perfect with with any kind of #rootd, but fir particularly well with the black and mauve shades today. I chose the Cavallo Cindy full seat breeches today and added some black and grey rider accessories with a BR Equestrian CL+ belt, Ariat FEI Monaco Lx field boots, the stunning KASK Dogma Carbon light helmet and a pair of Roeckl grip gloves.

A few more accesories can help take this look straight from street to stable like the Stella McCartney pony print scarf and a H&M pom pom beanie.

Have a stylish ride!

Basil and Butterscotch

Basil and butterscotch

Not the most usual combination in real life, but it certainly works for this #rootd: Basil, Butterscotch and a bit of Chocolate (hungry yet?).

It all started with one of my absolute must have favorites for theis season: the new Uhip Urban Outdoor bomber jacket. It works for any street to stadle look, is sleek, sophisticated, functional and bang on trend for this year.

I would wear it with a pair of Chocolate brown BR Macy breeches and a cheap and cheerful H&M Butterscotch cable knit sweater. A few high end accessories really add to the ‘street credibility’ of this look like a Steve Alan Camden crossbody bag, a pair of Original Achilles Nabuk Sneakers, a Miss Selfridge pom pom beanie and a Hermès logo belt and matching vintage basil and butterscotch scarf.

Wear it to the stables with a Samshield Miss Shield Chocolate brown helmet, Roeckl Wago winter gloves and a pair of Petrie Significant boots.

Have a stylish Autumn ride!

Let it rain!

Let it rain!

It has offically started: unpredictable weather season, better known as Autumn. With this #rootd in collaboration with Reitsport.ch, you’re ready for any kind of weather, especially rain.

Key to Autumn weather dressing is layers layers and more layers, so that if the sun does choose to peak through the clouds, you can shed one or two and still have a comfortable ride.

Start off your look with one of my favorite breeches (which I also bought at Reitsport.ch by the way…) the Horze Crescendo Petrina grey denim. Wear it with a classic navy blue polo by Kingsland and add a pop of color with the Schockemöhle Sports Winter Orange Phyllis vest.

Bring on the rain with the Schockemöhle Sports Navy Berrit Chrome softshell rain jacket and keep your helmet hair in check with a Eurostar Irina grey beanie.

Add a few more classic touches to your all weather look with a Eurostar plaited navy belt, a matching KEP Italia Chromo smart blue helmet, the perfect for cold days Roeckl Julia gloves and a pair of Ariat Bormont Pro tall H2O winter boots.

Special Edition: The stylish equestrian for Danielle Reynolds

special edition DVR

Meet Danielle Reynolds: fearless young entrepreneur, innovative fashion designer and stylish equestrian

Screen Shot 2017-10-08 at 09.59.23She started riding when she was first plonked on a horse age 3. Her and her sister  developed that horse obsession most of us get. They were at the yard all weekend, every weekend; riding and hanging out at the stables was all they were ever interested. If the girls weren’t at the yard they’d be playing horses in the garden, setting up jumping courses, wearing full gear (including hat and body protector) anywhere they went, testing each other on everything from their horse-care books, playing their Mary King play-station games or drawing layouts of yards they wished to own in the future.

Danielle was lucky enough to have over ten years of quality riding tuition which she is incredibly grateful for, but from many years since of hacking and not taking her riding too seriously, she does notice quite a few bad habits she’s fallen into through such relaxed riding for such a long time!  Her favourite type of riding is simply when the horse is enjoying it as much as she does, whether that be hacking out with friends letting the horses race each other, or out at cross-country or a sponsored ride.

Screen Shot 2017-10-08 at 09.59.49Hacking is what Danielle spends most of her time doing. Having direct access to the South Downs (UK) means rides are limitless and beautiful. Getting out with one of her good friends for a ride, letting the horses have a good stretch and let off some steam whilst the humans have a good giggle and catch up is the type of riding she loves. She would like to be able to take her riding more seriously too but with starting a business her free time is very limited. Danielle hopes that in the not too far future she can purchase her own horse and get out and about a bit more.

Danielle is the founder and owner of DVR Equestrian Sport. A brand-new performance based Equestrian-wear brand. Her first collection STYLE VIS™ concentrates on the safety of being seen and offers a range of premium, practical designs for riding, cycling and running.

For Danielle the most inspirational riders are those standing up for change in the equestrian world based on so much tradition, for example Charlotte Dujardin encouraging the of wearing of crash helmets in the dressage ring.

In terms of what Danielle wears when riding, she’s one of those people that often opts for gym-wear over equestrian brands, and this is partly why she launched her own collection. You’ll find her in a pair of her favourite running leggings and a Nike base-layer most of the time.

We put together a look for Danielle today incoporating her own designs, but also some of her style favorites. We of course started with the basic essentials: a stylish and supportive sports bra by her own brand DVR Equestrian and a pair of plum Style VIS rider leggings also by DVR Equestrian. We added a bit of fashion into the mix with this comfortable, functional yet super stylish Kenzo tiger sweater and layered a classic Ariat black wind breaker bomber jacket on top for those chilly English countryside rides. Danielle also loves her Ariat Heritage Contour II field boots, so we had to add them in. She keeps safe and stylish while riding, not only by wearing her Style VIS collection, but also with a Charles Owen Pro II helmet and a piar of Hauke Schmidt Touch of Class gloves. We added on one more hint of sporty style: a pair of Puma satin sneakers to change into after her ride.

Would like to ride safely and in style too? Go check out the DVR Equestrian collection online right HERE.

Have a safe and stylish ride!

Into the blue

Into the blue

I don’t know about you, but I’m really into the bright blue that’s part of this season’s Ariat collection. I’ve worn the Ideal Down vest featured in this #rootd and am sure you will be seeing it back many times in my fall/winter #rootd’s over the next few months: bright, beautiful and practical all at the same time.

I paired it with the classic Ariat Olympia full seat beige breeches (both in real life and in this #rootd) and would recommend adding a sleek and contemporary denim Adina shirt by J Brand.

Accessorize the look with an Adi Kissilevich Silk In Love Scarf, a pair Hauke Schmidt Magic Tack embellished gloves, a ‘Blue ribbon’ Shop Hunt Club Derby belt, a Samshield Miss Shield dark blue ladies helmet and a pair of Petrie polo boots.

Add a few street to stable finishing touches with a pair of Ray-Ban club round sunglasses and bring your essentials for a day at the barn with you in a Lodis Audrey Cecily Satchel.

Have a wonderful weekend and a stylish ride!

Mulled wine

Reitsport ch Sep final

This look is brought to you today in collaboration with Reitsport.ch, you will find every single item featured in this #rootd on their website.

The hero of this look is the wine red HKM Scotland vest, which is layered perfectly with an HKM Lightweight soft powder mokka windbreaker and a cool Soccx wine red checked blouse.

Add a little bit more spice to your mulled wine look with a pair of Dark brown Cavallo Janne Pro boots, a dark brown KEP Italia Cromo T helmet, and a mulled wine matching ‘Equestrian’ beanie by Horze.

Enjoy your mulled wine responsibly and have a stylish ride!

Boardroom to barn

Boardroom to barn

Bring your equestrian lifestyle to that boardroom meeting today, and save yourself some time when heading straight to the barn afterwards by only having to do a few simple switches of items.

Kick off your business week with a pair of Le Fash NY Gotham City breeches: THE ultimate street to stable, or in this case boardroom to barn, item. Wear them with a caramel colored Doncaster Cashmere turtleneck top, a matching Hermès logo belt and a pair of suede Sam Edelman Cora booties. Finish off your boardroom-ready look with an extra hint of equestrian flair in the form of this Elizabeth Kennedy mirrored horse embroidery blazer and bring your laptop and everything else you need for a successful #equinegirlboss day in the Hyde and Hare Foxley cowhide bag.

When heading to the barn, exchange your beautiful blazer with a light beige Joules Minx quilted vest and your booties for a pair of sleek black Cavallo Primus lace-up boots. Top it off with a pair of Roeckl gloves and the sophisticated and sleek Antarès Shagreen glossy helmet and you ready for your ride!

Have a great week and a stylish ride!

Indian summer bloom

Indian summer bloom

Ahh September my fickle friend, just when we think summer is well and truly over, you bring us a beautiful Indian summers’ day and leave us utterly confused on what to wear.

Here’s a casual weekend look that works for chilly mornings as well as Indian summer sunshine.

You can’t ever go wrong with a pair denim breeches, especially if they are as meticulously cut as this Chaya Grip pair by Cavallo. Wear it with a floral Gucci hoodie from their newest collections and layer the newest HKM collection Sienna peachy pink vest over the top.

Add on some classy cognac accessories with a pair Petrie Athene Polo boots, Roeckl grip gloves, a high street skinny belt and the Adi Kissilevich sport snaffle bag. A navy blue helmet works with every single outfit and this Swarovski studded one by Kask is one of my favorites.

Change into a pair of Timberland peachy pink work boots after your ride to add that street to stable edge to your casual Indian summer bloom #rootd.

Have a lovely weekend and a stylish ride!
