Meet Jennifer Sims, or as many of you might know her, Instagram favourite #styledequestrian.
It all started with a passion for horses….
Jennifer has been obsessed with horses and the sport of showjumping since she was a little girl. When she was in elementary school, she used to carry around a picture of a random bay horse and tell everyone that it was her own mare named Chocolate. She doesn’t think anyone believed her but they let her go on and on about what an incredible horse she was. She’s pretty sure it was a Chincoteague pony of which she snapped a picture while on vacation.
Fast forward a number of years and a move to California from New Jersey. Jennifer started modelling at the age of 19 and with her very first paycheck (from Levis jeans) she bought her first horse. She’s been riding ever since. Now, you can find her competing actively on the A/AA circuit with her talented jumper Saturn V aka Rocket and her beautiful mare Summer.
Jennifers’ obsession with horses combined with her background in modelling and fashion is what led her to start The Styled Equestrian, her website and Instagram, which is her outlet for all things related to the equestrian lifestyle.
Jennifer loves street to stable looks, and does not like waisting precious time changing clothes to go out and meet her friends for a glass of bubbles.
Like her style? Here are all the details to get Jennifers’ look:
Denim riding breeches are among the most perfect street to stable items, especially this pair: the Aida full seat breech from PK international. Jennifer loves a good statement T and this one from Aztec Diamond Equestrian pretty much sums up the ideal #styledequestrian lifestyle: showjumping and champagne – what else do you need? Well, maybe a champagne coloured Mane Jane spur buckle belt, but not much else…
Even California mornings can get a bit chilly so Jennifer always has a lightweight jacket with her just in case, like this champing coloured Rick Owens bomber.
The perfect #rootd is all about the matching rider accessories: Jennifer loves her KEP Italia helmets, her Mountain Horse Sovereign high rider boots and classic SSG silk lined soft touch gloves.
A few essentials can turn any #rootd into a look fit for bubbles with the girls: avoid your helmet hair look with the Savannah from Vanner hats and add a pair of Tom Ford champagne coloured sunglasses.
Make sure to throw a pair of Micheal Kors platforms into your Tucker Tweed bag, bring your fashion model essential: the sparkling champagne coloured S’well stainless steel water bottle and your ready to go straight from the stable to champagne with the ladies in town.
Have a stylish ride!
