Meet Maria Gress, a member of the Ukrainian Dressage team and a young lady with an inspirational point of view. She’s 22 years old and has had a keen interest in dressage since she rode a horse for the f
irst time in her life.
For more than ten years she has been training each day, working towards improving her abilities and building a stronger bond with her horses.
This hard work and ‘can do’ attitude has most certainly paid off: she qualified in the Ukrainian National Championships young riders in 2013 and won silver in 2014, then went on to get 4-th place in the Ukrainian Cup between senior riders.
She also managed to get placed at international competitions in Poland and was successful at all national competitions where she took part in 2014. Her biggest achievement so far was participation in European Dressage Championship in Arezzo in 2014.
The European championship was not only a challenging experience, but also the most valuable one for her. This provided her with the opportunity to ride S*** level at the national competitions in Germany.
Today she’s mainly working with some young horses and very much looking forward to start showing them this year.
She is amazingly humble about her great achievements so far: “It would not be correct to say that I am the most talented rider, surely not, but I never give up and what I learned through my dressage career is that I have to fight for a result, so I am prepared to work hard and face the difficulties.” She has had experience in working with challenging horses and together with them proved that noting is impossible.
She likes to make sure she has the best quality products for herself and her horses, and tries to stay stylish while doing so. She especially love navy and brown colors: “I like a classical look” she said, “however there should always be some bright details”.
